A friend of mine got married in the Moon Palace in Cancun.
Cost was a bit of a cunt (£2200 for me and the missus for a week all inclusive), but at the time I was a borderline alcoholic and so just made sure I was never asleep during the hours when the beer barrells were available for self use, which was 7am to 3am, as I had to justify the expense.
Lovely place though and people tell me that the food was nice!!
Quiet after 7.30pm, as the yanks and Canadians are such useless drinkers that they were all tucked up in bed.

Getting married is about what you want to do first and foremost, unless any of you on here are into some sort of arranged marriages.

It's selfish if you expect you rfriends and family to al lpay to come out with you
If you accept that many of them won't be able to then fine, you can still have a party at home when get back

Gone, in most cases are the days of a free bar and with good reason but do people HAVE to choose venues with overpriced booze?
A day at wedding can cost a fortune these days.

I got married in Italy, obviously biased, for me, miles better than your big standard English wedding you always go to.

So you think it's fair to ask close friends and family to drop a few grand and take time off for a holiday at the date and time of YOUR choosing.
Nah, that's not selfish at all is it?

Couldn't care less how many other guests are there as long as close friends and family are there.
I don't think £8k to £10k is unreasonable.
